Renowned veteran trader and Market Wizard Peter Brandt released a pair of long-term charts on September 21 that point toward a potential target of $5.40 for XRP and $8,600 for Ethereum.
Both price objectives are derived strictly from classical technical analysis, setting aside fundamental factors, on-chain metrics, and short-term market drivers.
What Brandt’s Charts Actually Show
Regarding XRP, Brandt noted that his long-term setup points to an ultimate climb to $5.40. Trading near $1.52 at the time of publication, this forecast implies an increase of more than 250% relative to current valuations.
His technical drawing displays an extensive consolidation pattern defined by a descending resistance trendline stemming from past cycle peaks, paired with an ascending support line originating from prior troughs.
Earlier that same day, Brandt shared a comparable chart for Ethereum, indicating that it projects a future advance to $8,600 once the $5,000 threshold is successfully breached. With ETH changing hands near $2,731, this goal outlines significant potential upside, provided the intermediate hurdle of $5,000 is cleared first.
Accompanying both updates, Brandt issued a distinct caveat. He emphasized that publishing a chart is entirely separate from executing a trade, noting that individuals claiming active positions should supply verifiable evidence instead of depending solely on social media commentary.
Why Are XRP and Ethereum Projections Generating So Much Attention?
Real Vision founder Raoul Pal voiced public support for this measured outlook, commending Brandt’s focus on conveying probabilities and market observations rather than offering guaranteed forecasts.
These projections carry weight largely due to Brandt’s track record. He established his professional standing by utilizing traditional charting techniques—such as trendlines, support and resistance levels, and multi-year formations—long before the inception of cryptocurrency as an asset class.
Prevailing market conditions further bolster this bullish framework. Binance recently registered XRP inflows that outpaced its quarterly baseline by 663%, though exchange reserves experienced only a slight uptick, signaling portfolio realignment rather than intense distribution pressure. In a separate development, whale wallets accumulated upwards of $2 billion in XRP leading up to the most recent upward price movement.
Over the preceding 24 hours, XRP advanced roughly 5.2% to trade above $1.50 amid an overall strengthening of market sentiment. On that same day, Bitcoin touched an eight-month peak near $87,329, providing upward momentum across leading digital assets.
Additional analysts have pointed to parallel bullish configurations. Some have noted that Ethereum achieving a weekly close above $2,550 opens a pathway toward the $2,900 to $3,000 range, while others emphasize that a breached multi-year downtrend indicates much higher targets remain attainable over time.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re going to see $ETH rally to $15,000-20,000 this bull cycle. The previous bull cycle has been extremely weak for #Altcoins. This time, it all feels like 2017 again, meaning that the upside is going to be exponentially larger than previous cycles,” crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe said on X.

Whether XRP ultimately hits $5.40 or Ethereum climbs to $8,600 stays within the realm of long-term technical probabilities rather than acting as a certainty. As Brandt himself observed, a chart serves to illustrate probable outcomes, not to pledge specific price milestones.
