Dogwifhat (WIF), Pepe (PEPE), and Dogecoin (DOGE) stand out as the primary meme coins to watch this week. On Monday, each asset broke out of a multi-month bullish chart pattern, accompanied by trading volumes well above their respective 20-day averages.
These breakouts coincided with Bitcoin (BTC) reaching an eight-month peak. The upward movement successfully countered last week’s market decline, which had followed a Federal Reserve rate hike and a defeated Senate procedural vote of 49-50.
Market sentiment shifted on Monday as BTC achieved its first weekly close above the 50-week moving average in 45 weeks, surging past $87,000 for the first time since January.
During the market recovery, meme tokens have outperformed the major cryptocurrencies. According to CoinGecko data, PEPE and WIF both rallied over 40% across a seven-day period, while DOGE climbed roughly 18%, outpacing BTC’s roughly 12% gain over the same timeframe. Consequently, the sector’s top names are breaking out of formations that required months to develop.
1. Dogwifhat (WIF)
On Monday, WIF broke out from a nine-month inverse head and shoulders pattern—a bullish reversal formation featuring three troughs, with the central trough dropping the lowest. Volume on the breakout candle hit 32.2 million WIF, more than double the 20-day average volume of 14.1 million.
The neckline rests at $0.2322, a threshold that also aligns with the 0.236 Fibonacci retracement of the broader downward trend. This retracement spans from the May 2025 peak near $1.40 to the August 2026 trough near $0.133.
When a pattern’s neckline converges with a Fibonacci level, the breakout signal typically carries greater significance.
At the time of writing, WIF trades close to $0.256, reflecting a 24-hour gain of about 15%. CoinGecko figures place its market valuation at roughly $256 million, positioning it within the top 15 meme coins.
Projections based on the formation’s depth suggest WIF could advance by approximately 69% toward $0.4319, which lines up with the 0.5 Fibonacci level. En route, the 0.382 level at $0.3273 may function as a resistance barrier. Conversely, should the breakout fail, price support could emerge at $0.1732.
2. Pepe (PEPE)
Since February 2026, PEPE has carved out a nearly identical structural pattern. Its left shoulder materialized in March, the head formed in late June, and the right shoulder developed earlier this month.
The Ethereum-based frog token crossed above its neckline at $0.00000456 on Monday. Breakout volume reached 17.65 trillion PEPE, nearly double the 20-day average of 9.54 trillion.
PEPE changes hands near $0.00000496 presently, representing a roughly 15% increase over 24 hours. Its market capitalization sits near $2.05 billion, cementing its status as the fifth-largest meme coin according to CoinGecko.
The formation’s depth points toward a price target of $0.00000935, which is roughly 88% higher than current valuations. Prior to reaching that target, selling pressure may emerge near $0.00000728, a price ceiling from January.
A daily close falling beneath the neckline would invalidate this setup, leaving immediate support at $0.00000413 and a subsequent major floor at $0.00000320.
3. Dogecoin (DOGE)
DOGE continues to serve as the anchor for the entire sector. By a wide margin, it remains the largest meme coin with a market cap approaching $15.3 billion, securing its spot as the 12th-largest crypto asset overall. The token trades near $0.098 currently, up about 5% over 24 hours.
On the daily chart, DOGE has formed a double bottom pattern, which occurs when a price tests an identical support level twice before reversing upward. Both bottoms rested near $0.080, appearing first in late August and recurring in mid-September.
The neckline is positioned at $0.095. Monday’s trading candle closed above this line on a volume of 1.39 billion DOGE, exceeding its 20-day average by roughly 47%.
Calculated from the depth of the pattern, this breakout aims for $0.1156, representing an upside of about 18% from current levels. For this configuration to remain intact, DOGE must attract buyers at the neckline during any potential pullback.
A daily session ending below $0.095 would negate the pattern, shifting the next support levels to $0.0839 and subsequently $0.0782.
All three breakouts share a common vulnerability: each materialized within a single trading session, and each relies heavily on the neckline holding firm as support during initial retests. Whether these meme coins can sustain their upward momentum may ultimately depend on Bitcoin maintaining its position above the 50-week simple moving average.
